European and USA International Champion; IWSD Affiliate Chairman/Narcyz Latecki (USA)
was born in Poland in 1969. The winner of several all-around championship titles, he has taken over thirty-four gold medals in national and international Wushu competitions in Europe and the United States.
At the age of twelve, he and two friends formed a “martial arts fight club”, where they practiced fighting techniques and strengthening their bodies, intensively training five to six hours every day. From this practice, his personal evolution expanded to include professional training in Karate Kyokushin. Two years later, he turned his interest and passion to Chinese martial arts, which has become his life-long pursuit.
Since then, it was his honor to study extensively with several prominent masters in internal and external Wushu, Taiji and Qigong in Poland, North America and China. Some of the primary masters with whom he has studied are the following: Yang Jwingming (styles – Changquan, Baihequan, Qinna, Yang Style Taiji, and Qigong); Liang Shouyu (styles – Emei System, Wuji System, Traditional Wushu, Chen Style Taiji, Xingyi, Bagua, Qigong, Da Pong Qigong, Iron Shirt Qigong, Shuaijiao and Weapons); and Ma Xianda (styles – Bajiquan, Piguaquan, Fanziquan, Chuojiao, and Tongbei weapons).
Mr. Latecki has been teaching Chinese martial arts since 1988. He was one of the first certified instructors in Europe and one of the first qualified to test and rank students, as well as instructors, in the International YMAA Training System. He immigrated to the United States in 1993, obtaining a working visa due to his martial arts skills. Currently he holds a 7th level black belt of the International Wushu Sanshoudao Association (IWSD).
A versatile practitioner, teacher, and judge of national and international tournaments in both internal and external Wushu, he has been featured on Pay-Per-View television and The Discovery Channel, as well as other TV shows and many instructional videotapes and books on Chinese martial arts.
In 1998 Narcyz and his wife, Eva, founded their own martial arts center, CMA (Chinese Martial Arts) in Acton, Massachusetts. Over the past ten years, the Lateckis have guided their students in achieving high honors in national and international competitions, scoring prominently in each of the top three categories, including the title of Grand Champion.
